■ Bank Official ■ Freelance Writer ■ Youth Activist ■ Career Counselor ■ Radio DX-er ■ A (+ve) Blood Donor From a shy and introverted childhood, I found my way to develop confidence, communication skills and leadership capabilities through active participation in social, leadership and co-curricular activities. This was happen when my secondary school teache forced me to engage with school’s Bangladesh Scouts team. Scouting gave me a deep interest in teamwork, civic responsibility and youth leadership. I was involved in Radio DXing (Radio Broadcast Analysis) and writing features and opinion in various national dailies and online platforms. These experiences have enriched my writing, communication and analytical skills as well as broadened my perspective on global and social issues. I also actively involved with various youth-focused organizations, including Youth Ending Hunger-Bangladesh (The Hunger Project), “Yes Group” of Transparency International Bangladesh, Active Citizens’s program of The British Council. These platforms provided me valuable experience in leadership, facilitation, community mobilization, and implementation of social initiatives. At the same time, I got the opportunity to work on various social issues such as food security, transparency, good governance and youth empowerment at local and international levels. One of the most important milestones in my journey was representing Bangladesh at the ‘Youth in Action for Global Change’ regional symposium held in Islamabad, Pakistan at 2011 under the British Council’s Active Citizens initiative. This international experience has further strengthened my intercultural understanding, sense of global citizenship, and commitment to social change.
